Accounts Assistant (London)

JOB TITLE: Accounts Assistant

REPORTING TO: Audit Managers and Seniors

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Draft and prepare client accounts/statutory accounts of partnerships and LLPs along with Tax computations
  • Draft quarterly VAT returns and Corporation Tax returns (CT600)
  • Compile Profit and Loss accounts, balance sheets of assets and liabilities and trial balance accounts
  • Draft reports covering financial statements, client business issues, systems and controls
  • Prepare management accounts
  • Liaise closely with clients and other stakeholders, keeping the relevant manager/supervisor informed of developments

SKILL & EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • At least 3 years AAT PQE or qualified by experience
  • Minimum 1 to 2 years recent experience in an accountancy practice
  • Accounts preparation and corporate tax experience
  • Double entry accounting and bookkeeping skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Statutory and management accounts preparation for UK entities
  • MS Office, particularly Excel – intermediate / advanced level
  • Evidence of being a motivated self-starter with the ability to multi-task, work under pressure and complete assignments on time
  • VAT knowledge

 

Desirable

  • Knowledge of Caseware, Sage, Quickbooks, Xero, Alphatax and CCH
  • Knowledge of Italian would be an advantage
