The Simmons Gainsford staff took a well-deserved break to enjoy their annual staff Summer social event.
This year, the Simmons Gainsford Social Committee organised a scenic boat cruise on the River Thames.
The Hawaiian themed event included very colourful surroundings, loud shirts, grass skirts and some of the best-worst karaoke voices you will have heard this side of the river.
The Simmons Gainsford team would like to thank all the staff for being part of a fantastic team.
We all look forward to the Christmas event.
Simmons Gainsford, along with Neva Consultants held the 6th annual Rounders tournament on Thursday 22nd June at Maresfield Recreation Centre near Uckfield.
The British Summer shone down on the Maresfield pitch as more than 120 people from the local business community attended the event.
The event was in aid of the Children’s Respite Trust, with all proceeds being donated to the charity.
The Children’s Respite Trust works tirelessly to assist families who are seeking respite services for children with disabilities. (www.crtcharity.org)
Staff members from Simmons Gainsford, Neva Consultants, TR Fastenings, Peter Taylor Associates, So Legal, CJ Thorne and Pennells Carpets, Pennell’s Carpets, Dawson Hart, The Highlands Inn, Garrison Roofing, ActionCoach, JS Electrical and Lyons Finance all competed for the prize of best Rounders team in East Sussex.
The winners, for the second-year running were CJ Thorne after a gritting final against Neva Consultants.
Hundreds of pounds were raised on the day and donations continue to come in.
James Duggan, partner at Simmons Gainsford LLP in Uckfield commented “I am pleased that in our 6th year the sun shone again for this increasingly popular event and there appeared to be more than ever in attendance last night – not bad for something that one of my partners suggested 6 years ago and that I thought we may have a handful of people turn up for, at best! I now have businesses emailing me in the Spring to find out when we are holding the infamous summer rounders event”
Graham Prince, director at Neva Consultants added “We were delighted to sponsor this event with Simmons Gainsford. This enabled 100% of the monies contributed passed directly to The Children’s Respite Charity. It was fantastic to see over 120 people from the local business community supporting this event, which really demonstrates the appetite for social events where different businesses can come together, away from the pressures of the office, and make new acquaintances in a relaxed atmosphere. Thank you to Maresfield Cricket Club for producing a delicious BBQ. Congratulations to all 8 teams for participating but in particular Thorne’s for winning the event, even though they beat Neva in the final! However, the real winner was The Children’s Respite Charity who are delivering such a vital support to families within the Uckfield and surrounding areas”
A huge thank you to all of those who participated and supported this year’s tournament and we hope to see you again in 2019.

At Simmons Gainsford we are highly fortunate to have an abundance of talent within our team.
Our staff are not only professional in their field, they also hold a keen interest in baking.
For Sports Relief 2018, some members of our team kindly dedicated their spare time and became wannabe Bake-Off Champions!
Here are some of their amazing (and highly tasty) creations.
All funds raised in the Simmons Gainsford London and Sussex offices will be donated to Sports Relief. Thank you to everyone who contributed…bakers and tasters!
On Friday 15th December, Simmons Gainsford’s UK offices in Sussex and London held their annual Christmas Jumper Day.
Christmas Jumper Day 2017 saw staff from both offices brighten up the atmosphere by wearing their favourite Christmas jumpers. This was all in aid of raising money for Simmons Gainsford’s chosen charity, Chailey Heritage Foundation based in Lewes, East Sussex.
Chailey Heritage Foundation is a pioneering charity providing education, care and transition services for children and young people with complex physical disabilities and health needs. As one of the UK’s leading centres for children and young adults with neurological motor impairment such as cerebral palsy, Chailey work tirelessly to provide support for children and their families.
Thank you to all involved and we wish Chailey Heritage Foundation, our clients, colleagues and friends a Happy Festive Season and Prosperous 2018.
Simmons Gainsford’s Social Committee is here to organise events for the SG staff. These events provide the opportunity for the staff to socialise and relax out of the working environment.
Fun is always had and this time round, the committee arranged a night of Ping-Pong at Bounce in Farringdon, London in late September.
The competition was hot, food and drinks were flowing and the atmosphere was electric.
In homage to the great game of Ping-Pong which was founded in 19th century England, the SG tournament ensued.
The victors, our two new trainees. Well done lads!

Here at Simmons Gainsford, we thrive on great team spirit. That, we have in abundance. Not only are we a team of hard-working professionals but a team of friends.
Every year we host a summer event for the staff, giving them the opportunity to unwind for the day and be rewarded for their contunual endevours over the year.
This year, we held our summer event in Uckfield, the town where our other Simmons Gainsford office is situated. The ‘summer’ event was a wash-out. No suprises that the UK summer gods would throw a curve-ball. However, in true SG style, we prevailed and hosted a day of activities, live music, great food and of course, one that oozed team spirit.
On of our partners provided amazing live music, accompanied by their band. The bouncy castle was never given a break despite the rain and the wannabe footballers took to the field for a good kickabout hoping to be snapped up by a Premier League scout. Sorry boys!
This was all topped off with a great barbeque and an Ice-Cream van to tickle the nostalgia of childhood.

On Thursday 20th April some brave SG staff went to the yearly HAT Quiz night to test their knowledge and compete against other Accountancy firms.
We had 4 teams entering the quiz from SG and the results were:
SG 1 came second (and won a bottle of champagne, modelled by our Audit Manager Tom Jeffries below – he was slightly unhappy that they didn’t win)
SG 2 & 4 came joint 17th (somehow managed to score exactly the same even though they weren’t sitting next to each other!)
SG 3 came second from bottom (but not bottom woohoo!)
A great night was had by all!

On Tuesday 7th February nine of us from SG went Bouldering and had a smashing time.
Around six of us tried it for the first time and were able to pick it up very quickly. After an hour and a half, some of us stayed to climb some more, a few went home and the others went on to a pub for a celebratory drink and some fine ribs and chips. It’s safe to say we all had a fantastic time.

For the national Christmas Jumper Day 2016 the Simmons Gainsford Staff dressed up in their best Christmas Jumpers and raised money for our chosen charity Chailey Heritage Foundation.
We managed to raise £172.81 for Chailey Heritage Foundation which is a pioneering charity providing education, care and transition services for children and young people with complex physical disabilities and health needs.
Earlier this year our Uckfield Team spent a day out of the office to help Chailey Heritage Foundation painting their fences. Read more about that here.
