A truly tee-riffic effort for Macmillan

On 30 Friday 30 June 2023, Darren, David, Shilen and Tom (“TEAM SG”) took part in the Longest Day Golf Challenge once again to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. The challenge meant playing 72 holes of golf in one day and was a tribute to our former Senior Partner, Stephen Jennings.

Following a few very early wake-up calls and a couple of car journeys, we arrived at Woodcote Park Golf Club in Coulsdon, Surrey at around 3:45am. On the first tee at 4am, David pledged £50 per birdie. After the first round he found himself £300 down!

As we neared the completion of 3 rounds, the weather began to turn and tiredness was starting to creep in. However that didn’t seem to deter Tom who went on to finish the day with an eagle from an off the green, 30ft putt.

As well as enjoying a day full of laughter and camaraderie, we are delighted to have so far raised over £19,000 which is enough to fund a Macmillan nurse for three whole months.

The level of support from our clients, colleagues, contacts, family members and friends has been incredible and we are so thankful to everyone who has kindly donated and championed our mission. When we say we couldn’t have done it without you, we truly mean it!
