I’m Bradley and I started at Simmons Gainsford in March 2016.
Upon completion of my Economics and Politics degree at Loughborough University, like many graduates, I was unsure which career path to follow. A short-term contract role advertised by Simmons Gainsford earlier this year seemed a fitting way to apply my Excel knowledge and allowed me more time to explore various career routes. The nature of the role meant I had the opportunity to liaise with everyone in the business, which made it easy for me to fit in quickly.
After a couple of months, I realised that, actually, I could see myself fitting in here in the long-term. The supportive nature of the Firm, along with the level of responsibility given to trainees, encouraged me to apply for the graduate training programme via the HAT Group. Speaking to senior members about the type of work offered at Simmons Gainsford, and understanding from current trainees the importance of balancing work and study with a social life made the decision easy for me.
Although I have no accounting experience, I had previously worked within financial services and, after almost a year since graduating, I felt re-energised to study for the ACA qualification. I begin my studies in January 2017.
