An employee set up a false bank account in the name of the bona fide supplier, paid genuine invoices into this account and collected the proceeds. In order to prevent the genuine supplier from demanding money for unpaid invoices he arranged for cheque payments to the supplier based on fake invoices on which he forged the Finance Director’s signature. The amount stolen amounted to more than £185,000.
