What information do we collect about you
We collect information about you when you discuss your insurance requirements with us. This could be name, date of birth, address, contact details needed to fulfil an insurance contract.
How will we use the information about you and Transfer of Data
We collect information about you to source appropriate cover for your insurance requirements, manage your account with us and, if you agree, to contact you about other products and services we think may be of interest to you.
Your information may be transferred to any country, including countries outside of the European Economic Area (EEA), for processing, storage, administration or any other use. The purposes and processing associated with any such transfer will comply with all applicable data protection regulations, including the UK Data Protection Act, and with our obligation to adequately protect and secure your personal information. Where required under applicable laws we will take measures to ensure that personal information handled in other countries will receive at least the same level of protection as it is given in the EEA.
We will not share your data with any other third parties except for the legitimate interest of the fulfilment of the insurance contact.
How decisions may be made
Some insurers may use automated decision making and profiling in relation to your contract.
If you apply for premium finance via insurer’s direct debit schemes or Premium Credit Limited they may search the public information that a credit reference agency holds about you. The credit reference agency will add details of the search and your application to their record about you. This and other information about you may be used to make credit decisions and undertake checks for the prevention and detection of money laundering.
