I am senior partner at Simmons Gainsford LLP. I became partner in 1998, having joined the company in 1992. I specialise in tax, with considerable experience advising on high value transactions.
I also run Simmons Gainsford’s Private Client Team, which looks after circa 1,600 clients including a large number of High Net Worth individuals, Non-Doms and Trusts, and provide advice on all taxes which impact on the affairs of private individuals as well as privately owned businesses.
I joined Simmons Gainsford in 2016 after spending 9 years with a mid-tier London firm which I acquired some of my managerial experience.
A vast range of industries are covered in my client portfolio which includes retail, travel agents (include ATOL licenced agents), property investment and corporate services, with their sizes range from owner-managed to groups with international presence.
As a fluent Cantonese speaker, I’m part of the Far East helpdesk dedicated in providing business solutions to East Asian companies having operations in the UK.
I am a partner at Simmons Gainsford LLP and a Chartered Tax Adviser, heading up our Corporation Tax Team. I am a Fellow Chartered Accountant with over 20 years’ experience, including advising on corporate reorganisation, acquisitions and disposals, companies seeking investor funding (including SEIS/EIS investor tax relief), employee share schemes, (including EMI), and R&D tax credits.
I also specialise in international tax issues for both foreign companies coming into the UK and Europe, and for UK companies expanding overseas, including transfer pricing, permanent establishments and withholding tax issues and double taxes.
After graduating from Oxford Brookes University in Applied Accounting, I trained and qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant with an independent London firm. In my 6 years there I worked in the audit, accounts and tax teams; on a variety of clients. I also had experience of working on and preparing reports for tax investigations.
I joined Simmons Gainsford in 2016 and have progressed to Assistant Audit Manager, where I now manage a diverse portfolio of clients. I have also worked on a variety of ad hoc assignments including due diligence reports.
I am a Partner at Simmons Gainsford LLP, having joined in 1991, and being promoted to Partner in 1994. I have a diverse portfolio of audit clients covering the property, publishing and insurance sectors. I head up our Russian desk and work with a range of clients from Russia and Eastern Europe.
Previous to Simmons Gainsford I qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1985 with a city practice, spending the following 5 years working for an international Chartered Accountancy firm in their London and St Albans offices.
I am also the firm’s Compliance Partner with responsibilities for audit compliance, anti-money laundering procedures and data protection.
I am a partner at Simmons Gainsford LLP and a Chartered Tax Adviser with over a decade’s experience in “Group A” accountancy firms as a personal tax specialist. I have been part of the private client team at Simmons Gainsford LLP and specialises in advising clients on offshore and onshore personal tax planning, with particular focus on domicile and residency as well as owner-managed businesses in respect of capital tax issues.
I am a partner at Simmons Gainsford LLP, having joined in 1993, and have been a Partner since 2011. I am responsible for running and developing our Uckfield office, which has grown significantly since it first opened.
I specialise in statutory and management accounts production, corporate and personal tax, new business start-ups, and general consultancy.

I am a partner at Simmons Gainsford LLP, having joined straight from graduating Oxford University in 2003. I then trained and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with SG, and have since been promoted to Partner.
My client portfolio covers many sectors, but with a specific focus on privately owned businesses run by entrepreneurs. I pay a particular interest in working with my clients to understand their drive and ambitions, so to fully assist in achieving their aspirations.
I have also extensive experience in advising and auditing property companies.
Working alongside the Real Estate Tax Team on appropriate structures and works with a number of UK and international property groups .
The property clients include those involved in construction, development, investment and property fund managers.
I joined Simmons Gainsford in 2010 and I look after the Sussex office’s audit and accounts team dealing with a wide range of businesses from sole traders and charities to £30m+ international groups.
Before joining Simmons Gainsford I worked for a local practice in a variety of roles doing book-keeping, payroll and personal tax as well as accounts and corporate tax.
I graduated from the University of Nottingham with a BA in Management Studies and have been a qualified member of the ACCA since 2012.
I qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2012 at a small North London practice and joined Simmons Gainsford a year later. I was promoted to Manager in 2016 and I predominantly specialise in the property sector where I have over 10 years of experience.
I am also chairman of the firm’s training and development team, looking at the staff training framework which is pivotal for the career development of the firm’s team.
I joined Simmons Gainsford in 2016 and have progressed to Assistant Manager, adding to my experience by working on clients in the property sector and numerous charities, amongst other things.
I previously trained with a London firm which is part of the Deloitte network, working on a variety of clients from different sectors (retail, FMCG, media, professional services, equipment leasing, parking).
I am also fluent in French.
I am a partner at Simmons Gainsford LLP, having joined in 2001. In 2013 I was promoted to Partner. I manage a client portfolio ranging from large corporates to smaller businesses and start-ups. I manage Simmons Gainsford’s technical accounting and compliance requirements, whilst also assisting with our IT strategy.
Whilst working at Simmons Gainsford I have successfully completed my MBA Finance post-graduate degree at the University of Leicester.
I joined Simmons Gainsford as a trainee in 1994 and, after qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 1997, I was seconded for 2 years to what was then the Companies Investigation Branch of the Department of Trade and Industry.
I am currently an audit manager with a diverse portfolio of clients including property, charities and solicitors.
I am also registered as an auditor in Gibraltar with responsibility for those audits.
I joined Simmons Gainsford as a manager in 2014, and became a partner in 2018. I advise UK Companies, LLPs, partnerships and overseas businesses; focusing on compliance requirements, audit and preparation of accounts and filing of various business returns to HMRC. As a firm, we provide bespoke solutions to clients based on their financial objectives. I focus on my clients’ internal management reporting systems, preparing financial plans for their business development and advising on structuring business, etc.
My clients range from owner managed businesses to large groups. They operate in various sectors, including dealing in properties, providing hospitality services, running wholesale businesses, generating power, acting as insurance brokers, etc.
Outside of work, I follow various sports and enjoy travelling with my family.
I spent 8 years at Deloitte within the Financial Services Tax team, the final four of which as a senior tax manager before joining Simmons Gainsford in 2007. Whilst at Deloitte he gained experience in dealing with significant M&A transactions including advising on the largest leveraged acquisition of a rolling stock company. My major clients included FTSE 100 financial institutions and household names and he also advised on one of the largest transfer pricing reviews undertaken by HM Revenue and Customs.
I have significant experience in fund structures, both the setting up and operations of authorised and unauthorised funds, which included a secondment to the internal tax team for one of the UK’s biggest fund managers as a manager in their fund tax accounting and compliance function. I have structured both inbound and outbound investment by clients, with particular experience in relation to the US and the Far East.
I have been extensively involved in setting up and managing the UK tax affairs of UK and non-UK property funds and has advised on corporate reconstructions and M&A transactions at all levels. I provide planning advice to the firms’ international clients and UK and International tax planning for both wealth retention and profit extraction.
I have over 20 years experience in banking and am a Fellow Chartered Certified Accountant and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers. I have worked both regionally and in the City where I headed a team of Corporate Analysts, evaluating client risk, allocating credit grades and appraising covenants.
My experience spans start-ups through to large corporates where I was the lead Bank Analyst for the likes of Land Trillium/Land Securities Group and Ferrovial/BAA.
I also have considerable experience as a lending decision maker within bank central lending units, sanctioning requests and setting pricing and terms. I manage my own client portfolios giving me first-hand knowledge of the banking products available to meet my clients’ operational needs.
I am a partner at Simmons Gainsford LLP, after being promoted in 2000. I specialise in the real estate sector, act as a general business consultant and the audit engagement partner for a significant number of privately-owned entrepreneurial clients.
As the Training Partner, I am responsible for recruiting and monitoring the performance of Simmons Gainsford’s accountancy trainees. Additionally, I am on the Board of Directors for two of Simmons Gainsford’s associated businesses.

I act as a general business consultant and audit engagement partner for a wide variety of entrepreneurial owner managed businesses and individuals. Utilising the firm’s specialist resources, I advise on a wide range of issues including appropriate structures, VAT, corporate and personal tax and business valuations.
I am on the Executive Committee, so am responsible for the internal finance and administration functions and the firm’s banking relationships. I am also responsible for the firm’s outsourcing facility in Poland.
I am a tax Partner at Simmons Gainsford LLP, becoming so in 2014 following the merger of my previous tax consultancy business.
I specialise in dealing with complex HMRC tax disputes and head up our Tax Investigation team dealing with a whole range of enquiries from those relating to tax avoidance, such as in relation to EBTs, contractor schemes etc.., as well as more serious disputes conducted under code of practice 9.
I also have a considerable amount of experience in HMRC’s mediation process known as ADR where we have had some recent successful outcomes for clients. I also have experience in matters relating to residence, domicile and offshore and international tax planning generally.
In addition, I support a number of intermediaries including other accountants, lawyers and IFA’s with ad hoc tax support for their clients.
After studying Mathematics at City University, I have gained my ICAEW qualification at a local firm. I have joined Simmons Gainsford as a newly qualified senior and have progressed to an audit manager.
I work with a variety of clients across a range of sectors, including property development, retail, advertising and insurance industry ensuring their accounts and tax compliance is managed on a timely basis.
Outside of work I love travelling and spending time with my children.
I joined Simmons Gainsford in 2012 as a member of the audit and accounts team working predominantly for clients dealt with by the Russian desk, shortly thereafter I became the Russian Desk Relationship Manager.
In addition to dealing with the clients’ accounting and audit matters on a daily basis, I also maintain relationships with existing and potential clients, and seek to extend the network of business contacts and generate new business.
I have a Degree with honours in Accounting from a leading Russian university and I am a Fellow member of ACCA. I speak fluent English, Russian and Italian
I am a partner at Simmons Gainsford LLP having joined in 2004, and then promoted to partner in 2007. I look after a varied portfolio of clients that range across a number of different sectors which include professional services, travel, manufacturing, recruitment, property investment and development.
In 1997 I qualified as a Chartered Accountant, and in 2000 I joined PwC until 2003. Whilst at PwC I worked in the Middle Markets division in their London office and was responsible for the audits of listed companies, city law firms and subsidiaries of listed and overseas companies.
After graduating from St. Andrews University in chemistry, I trained and qualified as a chartered accountant with an independent London firm. In my 18 years there I worked in the audit and accounts team on a variety of clients.
I joined Simmons Gainsford in 2016 as an audit manager and most of the clients I work on are in property investment and development. Apart from audit and accounts I also specialize in corporation tax.
Having graduated from Cardiff University with a BSC in International Business Management I qualified as a Chartered Accountant with an independent accountancy firm in Woking.
Following 4 years of experience at this practise I moved to Simmons Gainsford LLP in 2016 as an Audit Supervisor. I was quickly promoted to Audit Manager where I now manage a diverse portfolio of clients.
In 2001 I worked with a boutique training firm that specialised in supporting financial and professional services firms. I was initially responsible for business development but gradually moved into the design and delivery of sales coaching and training programmes.
At the beginning of 2004, I established my own company which provides practical business development support. Over the last 15+ years I have worked as a business development consultant focusing on sales, account management and coaching to a variety of firms across several sectors, including: accountancy, legal, investment management, property and insurance.
Although technically a college dropout, I did return to university 20 years later to complete an MBA with the Open University Business School.
I am a member of the Simmons Gainsford Indirect Tax Practice with 15 years’ experience in VAT and indirect taxes. I am a non-practising barrister, and have a Masters in Laws. I specialise in land and property, finance and insurance, partial exemption, and certain customs matters. I worked for HMRC for 5 years, and spent 4 years working in the Big 4 working on a wide variety of client matters.
I am an experienced presenter, and regularly deliver training seminars on VAT and indirect taxes to colleagues and clients.
