Nigel entered the Financial Services profession in 1977 and has extensive knowledge in personal, family and corporate financial planning and protection. Nigel also advises in the investment and pension areas of the business and believes in forging long-term relationships with his clients. Nigel’s business has developed based on the strong foundation of good solid advice and the provision of a fair, first class service for his clients.
Bernard has over 30 years experience in Financial Services and he has worked for some of the largest companies in our profession including Prudential, AXA and Scottish Widows. Having operated at senior management/director level for the last 15 years, he brings a wealth of experience to our management team. In addition to his industry recognised qualifications, he is also a Certified Change Management Practitioner and a Prince2 Practitioner in Project Management.
At Simmons Gainsford Financial Services Bernard is responsible for the further recruitment and management of our advisory team and increasing business flow.
Chris has worked in the Financial Services industry since 1997. He originally progressed through the ranks of a major UK Insurance Company before becoming an IFA in 2004. Since then, he has worked as both an Adviser and a Paraplanner, joining Simmons Gainsford Financial Services in 2011. He now advises across a broad spectrum of financial planning requirements, offering tailored and personalised solutions to a range of personal and corporate client needs and objectives.
Robert has been in the Financial Services profession since 1974 and has introduced many corporate clients, which led to the firm becoming a major player in the employee benefits market. Robert brings a highly individual approach and personal touch to the business and this, coupled with his enthusiasm for Financial Services, has enabled him to forge close relationships with clients. Robert decided to retire as a director of the business and use his wide experience of the profession to focus on his clients.
Geoff has spent over 30 years in Financial Services, focusing in particular on employee benefits and investment markets. He is an experienced corporate adviser and has several clients with pay rolls in excess of 1000 staff. Geoff’s extensive knowledge of the industry, in addition to his exceptional communication skills have been fundamental in cementing long term relationships with his clients.
Nick has been in the Financial Services profession for over 23 years and has a wide range of experience in individual and corporate financial planning. As well as holistic financial advice, Nick also advises in the more specialist areas of inheritance tax, investment and wealth planning, with a view to tax mitigation. In this role, Nick often liaises with other professionals including accountants and solicitors.
Phil entered the Financial Services profession in 2000 before joining Simmons Gainsford Financial Services in 2005. Since then, he has gained a broad knowledge of implementing financial planning solutions as well as business and individual protection, investment, pension and estate planning for both Corporate and Private Clients. He has developed highly comprehensive financial plans tailored to client needs and objectives, with wealth preservation, wealth creation and legacy planning acting as key drivers.
Darryl has spent over 13 years developing his knowledge, experience and expertise within the Financial Services industry, specifically focusing on the provision of holistic financial planning advice. Before joining Simmons Gainsford Financial Services, he worked as both a paraplanner and an adviser in conjunction with a large accountancy practice, as well as being active in the management and operational requirements of the financial advisory business. This allowed him to develop an extensive understanding of the role’s technical aspects through working closely with a wide range of individual and corporate clients, particularly in the areas of protection, investments, retirement and inheritance tax planning. He is an ardent believer in treating customers fairly and ensuring that clients fully understand the implications of their undertakings.
Having joined Simmons Gainsford Financial Services several years ago, Darryl quickly became intimately involved with all aspects of the firm, providing technical support and guidance to the advisers whilst also heading up the technical department. After a short time, through development of this role, Darryl gradually became more involved with the compliance requirements of the firm and subsequently commenced working within the compliance department. Since this time, Darryl’s focus has increasingly been on ensuring that compliance is at the core of the business, and he continues to look to enhance the underlying culture and operations of the company in order to exemplify both a compliant and commercial organisation.
Paul has over 20 years’ experience in property and banking, having originally been on the management training scheme with Lloyds Bank. In 1986 he moved to the new business division of Chancery Bank, which specialised in providing finance for residential developments.
He is now a highly respected commercial mortgage broker, placing commercial and residential investment loans, as well as arranging highly geared residential development finance and also assisting a number of owner occupiers buy or refinance their premises.
Paul is one of the original members of the National Association of Commercial Finance Brokers, a trade organisation which aims to improve standards and professionalism in the industry.
Alan has over 44 years experience within the Financial Services Industry and has been an Independent Financial Adviser for 20 years. He holds the advanced pensions qualification G60, which allows him to advise on occupational final salary and money purchase pension schemes. He specialises in advising large corporations at senior levels and high net-worth clients, both through seminar presentations and individual counselling.
Elliot has over 20 years’ experience within the Financial Services industry and has recently taken up the position as the Assistant Head of the Mortgages department and holds the full CeMAP qualification. He has previously acted as an adviser as well as a mentor to trainee advisers. He has provided advice to high net worth clients on both personal and corporate levels.
Robert entered the Financial Services industry in 1980. He was previously a director of a successful IFA firm before joining forces with Geoff Hartnell to form SG Financial Services. Qualified in advanced pension planning, Robert has a broad knowledge of both personal and corporate pensions and his technical expertise and work ethic enable him to advise both individual clients and corporations.
Alan qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1982. He practiced as a Sole Practitioner Chartered Accountant for 24 years in London, predominantly offering accountancy and taxation advice to SME companies with turnovers between £1m and £20m. Alan previously acted as CEO of a Managing General Insurance Agent in Marine Insurance as well as CEO of a Private Hire Chauffeur company servicing the London Financial Services Market. He joined Simmons Gainsford Financial Services in 2012 heading up the Finance Department, providing all the financial management and reporting.
