I joined Simmons Gainsford in August 2025, bringing extensive experience in VAT advisory gained over many years in both practice and government. Before joining, I headed up the VAT advisory service line at Shaw Gibbs, having previously worked as a senior manager in VAT teams at other mid-tier firms, and earlier in my career as a Senior Assurance Officer with HMCE/HMRC.
In my current role, I work alongside the Indirect Tax Partner to grow and enhance the firm’s VAT advisory offering, providing clients with clear, practical advice across a range of matters from general VAT queries and transaction planning to structuring and HMRC enquiries or disclosures.
While I am a VAT generalist, I have particular expertise in land & property, construction, and the art market (including auctioneers, galleries, and import/export issues).
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, relaxing over a meal or film, and walking my labrador through the countryside.
