Simmons Gainsford Group announces new business division – Simmons Gainsford Indirect Tax Services LLP

We are pleased to announce the formation of a new business division – SG Indirect Tax Services LLP.

SG Indirect Tax Services LLP will be led by Senior Partner Paddy Behan. Paddy advises on the full range of VAT issues for businesses and their advisors. As well as providing consultancy advice, he also acts for clients in relation to penalties and disputes, and appeals to the First-tier Tribunal. For a number of years Paddy ran his own consultancy and a significant proportion of his time was spent providing technical support to lawyers and accountants. He will continue to offer these services.

SG Indirect Tax Services LLP will provide a comprehensive indirect tax service. The emphasis will be on VAT but the business will also advise on SDLT, excise and customs duties.

“Setting up a specialist Indirect Tax advisory service is part of the ongoing development of the firm and will help consolidate the continuing opportunities we have been seeing over the past 12 months” says Steven Strauss, Senior Partner at Simmons Gainsford LLP.

Paddy has written extensively on VAT and he is a co-editor of Hill and Redman’s Law of Landlord and Tenant. He has spoken on VAT topics on radio and television.
