On Friday 5th July, four team members from Simmons Gainsford LLP embarked on a Golf challenge with a twist.

In support of Macmillan Cancer Support, they took part in the Longest Day Golf Challenge at Burstead Golf Club in Essex.

The aim, to play 72 holes of golf in one day.

Standing on the first tee at 4:30am, the team set their sights on the goal, to smash the £10,000 fundraising target set.

Thirteen hours later and 72 holes complete, the team smashed the £10,000 target and so far, have raised over £16,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Earlier in the year, the firm’s senior partner was diagnosed with cancer and whilst this was a shock to all of his colleagues and loved ones, we have the support of Macmillan who work tirelessly to help people through this awful time.

The captain on the day, David Pumfrey, partner at Simmons Gainsford stated “This was an opportunity we could not miss. Our dear friend and colleague was diagnosed with this awful disease so we wanted to give something back to the charity who helps so many people get through it. Thank you to my three colleagues for joining me in what was a memorable day and thank you to all of the donations which have flooded in”

Simmons Gainsford LLP would like to thank all of those who have kindly donated and supported this challenge and a huge well done to our four golfers.

The donation page remains open and we would like to keep the momentum going.
