DownloadHaving joined in 1993, I have been a Partner since 2011. I am responsible for running and developing our Uckfield office, which has grown significantly since it first opened.
I specialise in statutory and management accounts production, corporate and personal tax, new business start-ups, and general consultancy.
I previously trained and worked with a small sole partner firm, where it then evolved into Simmons Gainsford.
I joined the firm’s Uckfield office in 2009 as an Accounts Senior prior to working my way up to both Supervisor and Manager level.
From there I became Director of the firm’s bookkeeping and business outsourcing service Fl3xiBooks following its launch in early 2017, where my role includes overseeing the daily running of the business, developing and maintaining financial systems and building meaningful and long-lasting relationships with clients.
As of 1 January 2022 I will be a Partner at Simmons Gainsford and whilst I will remain an integral part of Fl3xiBooks, my new role will see me assuming greater responsibility for managing our Uckfield office and more broadly helping with the development of the firm as a whole.
I joined the firm in 2016 and oversee the day to day running of the personal tax team split between our London and Uckfield offices.
My experience in tax spans back to 1991 with an initial career with HM Revenue & Customs followed by a local specialist tax and financial planning company . I have particular experience within the expatriate environment and regularly advise on subjects including residence and domicile.
In my spare time, I enjoy most sports (not that I am very good at any of them) and spending time with my family. Honesty, integrity and reliability are at the core of my being both personally and professionally.
I joined the firm in 2010 and I look after the Sussex office’s audit and accounts team dealing with a wide range of businesses from sole traders and charities to £30m+ international groups.
Before joining the firm I worked for a local practice in a variety of roles doing bookkeeping, payroll and personal tax as well as accounts and corporate tax.
I graduated from the University of Nottingham with a BA in Management Studies and have been a qualified member of the ACCA since 2012.
I joined the firm in 2010, qualifying as a member of the Chartered Tax Association (CTA) in 2014.
I currently oversee our Sussex office’s personal tax team, in addition to providing personal tax advice on a wide variety areas, although I have significant experience in advising owner-manged-businesses and the use of family trusts.
Before joining Simmons Gainsford I worked for a small local practice and spent 2 years working as an auditor at Deloitte.
I started at parent company Simmons Gainsford in 2015, having previously worked in Local Authority, Insurance and Tourism. I then moved across to the Fl3xiBooks team in August 2019.
When not at work, I spend a lot of my time watching real life crime documentaries ( I am slightly obsessed!)
