Simmons Gainsford is proud to announce the promotion of three outstanding professionals – James Hallett, Effie Karamani, and Gary Moment to the position of Partner, reflecting the firm’s continued investment in leadership and excellence across its service lines.

James Hallett, joined the firm in 2022 and leads a broad based portfolio from start- ups and PE backed enterprises, through to UK subsidiaries of multi-national groups. With the common link between that they are entrepreneurially driven at their core. Particular niches include manufacturing, fast moving consumer goods and hospitality.

Effie Karamani has over 25 years of experience as a Private Client tax adviser and joined Simmons Gainsford in 2022, having spent the bulk of her career at BDO. She specialises in international matters including residence, domicile, offshore trusts and complex structures as well as inheritance and succession planning. Effie heads up our International private client team, dealing with both compliance and advisory matters.

Gary Moment is a Corporate and International Tax specialist at Simmons Gainsford, having joined the firm in 2007. He advises clients with a view to achieving their business goals and optimising their corporate tax position. Gary previously spent 8 years in the financial services tax team at Deloitte, with major clients including FTSE 100 financial institutions and other leading household names, and has significant experience in relation to funds, share structure, corporate transactions, due diligence and cross border planning for both inbound and outbound investment by clients.
