A car dealership discovered that payment documents had customer payments shown against the wrong vehicles. A full investigation revealed that customer deposits had been used to cover the payment of vehicles that had already been delivered. The same sales person appeared on all of the suspicious documents. A stock check showed six vehicles unaccounted for. The sales person admitted theft in excess of £100,000.
