Simmons Gainsford teeing off again for Macmillan Cancer Support

Simmons Gainsford is delighted to announce that we will once again be taking on the Longest Day Golf Challenge to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support, playing 72 holes of golf in one day, from sunrise until sunset!

On Friday 30 June 2023, Partners Darren Hersey, David Pumfrey and Shilen Manek will be joined by Associate Partner, Tom Jeffries, at Woodcote Park Golf Club in Coulsdon, Surrey to take on the challenge in the hope of raising £18,000 for a great cause.

In early 2019 our then Senior Partner, Stephen Jennings, was diagnosed with cancer. In tribute to Stephen, we decided to take part in the challenge, and in July 2019, with the amazing amount of support from colleagues, contacts, family and friends, we were able to raise over £18,000. Our team were also immensely proud to be placed second in the fundraising out of 3,500 teams nationally.

Team captain, Shilen Manek, commented:

“We can’t wait to give this challenge another go in memory of our dear friend and colleague Stephen Jennings and in support of everyone whose lives have been affected by this terrible disease.

We were delighted to be able to give something back to Macmillan whose wonderful work helps so many people get through tough times.

A big thank you to my colleagues for joining me in what we hope will be another memorable day and thank you to anyone who kindly donates to the cause.”

We know that the last few years have been difficult for charities and so we have once again decided to take on this challenge and raise money for such a worthy cause.
